Not always – but most of the time!

There is always stuff to do in my job. If it isn’t really urgent, then there is always planning to do. There are so many things to think about before taking a warship to sea for long periods of time. Things like:
      – Does everybody know how to do their job? They might need training. It sounds easy, but when you have 27 people, who all do different things there is always someone who needs to do a course in something!
      – Do we need to order spares? We can’t just go down the road to the shop and buy a replacement when things break, so we need to make sure we have enough spare items on board just in case.

      Hello Branflakes123,

Not all the time. We have enough work to keep us going but sometimes it will be manic, other times it will be quiet – thats just the way it works but qwe always have to be ready for something to happen so there is a lot of planning to be carried out.

Sometimes it’s very busy when we have a project deadline and the software isn’t doing exactly what it’s meant to or if there is a sudden change in how we were meant to do something and we have to try fix it quickly. This is only sometimes though. Most of the time it’s work as usual and we all come in and we all have things to do and we get on with it.

Because I am on the graduate scheme, I usually have a lot more than just my usual work to do (trainings, courses etc.) so there is always something for me to do. Which is good because I am not the type to sit twiddling my thumbs!
