• Question: If you had to swap jobs for a day with one of the other transport engineers in this competition who would you swap with and why?

      I think I would like to swap with Omar.
      I love cars, (I drive an Alfa Romeo) and I think it would be really interesting to see how they are put together!

      I also think the work he is doing with Hybrid Cars sounds really interesting – I think that work is going to be so important to the whole world as carbon fuel becomes less accessible because of the demands from emerging countries, more expensive because there is less of it available and harder to justify as the world becomes more and more concerned with the issues of pollution.

      I think I’d swap with Al. I think it would be really interesting seeing how the planes get put together. It’s also an opportunity to go to Dubai which we be fascinating to visit. My second choice would be Omar. It would be fascinating working with and creating new technology.

      Hello Meganl056,

      Tough one – I think it would be Ivanka. It would be very interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes of a building site and how all of the different people are co-ordinated. It must be very satisfying to walk past a building every day and say ‘I helped to build that’ especially it its something that goes on to become famous or used in a film – It would be a great story to tell your children and grandchildren!!

      Good question! I think it is close between Emma and Al because they both have really interesting jobs and I would love to be able to travel more, but I think I would choose Al because I don’t think I could spend that long out at sea!

      I’d swap with Emma as I’d love to see what life on the seas is like, but like Omar I would only swap for a day!
      I got involved in maintaining a 1916 fire engine whilst at university, so I know I love learning on large machinery and seeing how everything works on a large scale.
