A real love for finding out out things worked and how things were put together. Engineering allows you to be at the very start of the process where you’re the on putting stuff together or creating things or ideas from scratch.

A bit like James – I like finding out how things work!
I used to borrow my Dad’s screwdrivers when I was growing up, just to take my toys apart to see how the insides worked….. slightly harder to achieved when the toy is electronic, but it never stopped me.

Also I was lucky to have an influence closer to home. My Dad is an engineer, so I expect that must have contributed towards my decision too.

      Hello chazaboy19,

Like Emma, my Dad was also an engineer so used to bring thing home from work that my brothers and I could take to pieces. I also enjoyed Design and Technology at school so i guess it was a natural step for me to become a Mechanical Engineer!
