Question: what is the main thing the technical specialists do?

The technical specialists are like normal engineers but are also experts in their field- they are like consultants within the company so if there are any questions nobody can answer, the technical specialist will be the person to ask. They usually get to go to conferences all over the world so that they can keep up to date with the latest technologies. They earn a lot of respect and are valued within the company.
