      Hello tonyyyg99,

Thanks for the question. There are four subjects that i found the most useful and the ones that have got me where i am today. These subjects are Maths, Science, English Language and Design & Technology. Some of the things that i learned at school are still useful today 25 years on!!

Maths and science were important at school- they helped develop my interest and doing Maths at A level was really important for me to be able to handle the Maths at university. But even subjects such as English are very useful to me because an engineer may have the best ideas in the world but if they can’t explain and present them properly no one will be interested!

I don’t think there was a single topic – Physics was my favourite, but I have used Maths, English, Chemistry the most at university and in my jobs. I also remember wishing I had taken Electronics when I got to university (I had no idea about anything to do with electronics and had to work really hard to catch up in my first year!)
