Good interview question! I would hope I’m still enjoying my work. Maybe not so close to the bottom rung. Maybe leading a small team where I can actually make some real decisions.

      Hello Katherinelizabeth,

Thanks for your question. In 20 years time, i’ll be 54 so i think i’ll be getting close to retiring having hopefully had the best career possible to me – I have seen some exotic places during my career as well as some of the more scary places as well so i’ll have lots of memories to tell my children and grandchilren as well as planty of advice to pass on to budding young engineers such as yourself!

      Hi Katherinelizabeth

I see myself being quite old! I think I will still be working in the car industry although I hope it is somewhere warmer. I will probably also have a lot of pet-car projects to spend all my money on.

In 20 years time i will be 48 (so ancient!)….It depends on how long I decide to stay in the Navy…… So there are 2 ways it could go!

Either I’ll be a Commander or a Captain in the Navy, maybe doing something like deciding what the future ships look like or perhaps writing defence policy.

Or if I leave the Navy, by then I would like to be running an engineering company…. perhaps a manufacturing company or maybe one that does work for the defence industry.
